Day
01:- Nairobi / Samburu
After breakfast, we depart Nairobi for Samburu Game Reserve which runs
along the Uaso Nyiro River in Northern Kenya. This park has several game
species that are rare elsewhere in East Africa such as the reticulated
Giraffe, the beautiful Beisa Orynx, Grevy Zebra and Somali Ostrich. Uaso
Nyiro riverine forest has also an abundance of Elephants, Buffaloes, Rhino,
Dik Dik, Cheetah, Leopard, Lion and Crocodiles.
We view the game en route as we proceed to our semi-permanent campsite
on Uaso Nyiro River bank where we can also pitch our tents.
Days
02:- Samburu
After breakfast, we embark on a full day gameviewing. We admire the varied
landscape of red broken volcanic rock, steep hills and rocky outcroppings.
We look out for the rare Grevy Zebra, the beautiful Beisa Orynx, the blue
legged Somali Ostrich and the elusive Leopard. In the evening, we return
to our campsite for dinner and overnight.
Day
03:- Lake Baringo
After breakfast, we depart our Samburu campsite armed with packed lunch.
We descend the eastern flank of the Great Rift valley and reach Lake Baringo
early afternoon. Lake Baringo is a fresh water lake with several rocky
islands which host a large colony of birds. It has also an abundance of
Hippos and Crocodiles. We set-up our camp for dinner and overnight.
Day
04:- Lake Nakuru / Lake Bogoria
After breakfast, we depart for Lake Bogoria. Lake Bogoria receives thousands
of Flamingoes when they migrate from Lake Nakuru. We admire the Flamingoes
as we view the boiling hot springs and geysers. After lunch, we proceed
to Lake Nakuru another shallow soda lake which is home to millions of
Larger and Lesser Flamingoes as well as a large variety of other birds.
We tour the renowned Rhino Sanctuary in the surrounding National Park
which is also home to Hippos, Buffaloes, Lions, Waterbucks Warthogs and
other plain game. In the evening, we set-up camp outside Nakuru Town.
Day
05:- Lake Nakuru/ Masai Mara
After breakfast, we depart for Masai Mara through the expansive Masai
Countryside. We reach the edge of the Park early afternoon and proceed
to our permanent camp on the banks of Telek River for dinner and overnight.
Day
06:- Masai Mara
After breakfast, we embark on a full day gameviewing. Masai Mara is a
wildlife theatre unsurpassed in the world. We tour the Mara landscape
of rolling hills and scattered woodlands. We enjoy the frequent sights
of large herds of Elephant, Gazelle, Wildebeest, Waterbuck, Kongoni and
many other plain animals. We look out for the usual predators of Lion,
Leopard and Cheetah.
Day
07:- Masai Mara / Nairobi
After breakfast, we depart for Nairobi armed with packed lunch. We stop
at the Masai Town of Narok to buy souvenirs and thereafter continue to
Nairobi arriving early evening.
